Una mañana de lluvia resultó en muy pocas capturas, por lo tanto, toda nuestra atención fue puesta en el conteo de rapaces por la tarde. Dado que 1.1 millones de rapaces pasaron por Cerro Ancón en Panamá ayer (ver http://www.hawkcount.org), tuvimos grandes esperanzas, sin embargo, las primaras espirales no formaron hasta las 3:30 pm. El tarde terminó con un total decente de 15,858 Cathartes aura, 107 Buteo platypterus, 55 Buteo swainsonii, 4 Falco columbarius, 5 Falco peregrinus y un Pandion haliaetus, y esperemos registrar más de este movimiento mañana!
English: A rainy morning resulted in few captures, so all the attention was on the afternoon raptor count. With 1.1 million raptors passing over Ancon Hill in Panama yesterday (see http://www.hawkcount.org), we were hoping to catch the edge of this movement and at 3:30 pm the first spirals began to form. The afternoon ended with a decent total of 15,585 Turkey Vultures, 107 Broad-winged Hawks, 55 Swainson’s Hawks, 4 Merlin, 5 Peregrine and an Osprey, and we hope to catch the rest of the movement tomorrow!
