Mucha variedad en La Victoria

En los últimos tres días en La Victoria hemos estado especialmente ocupados con una excelente variedad de migratorias presentes y en buenos números. Las capturas demuestran que los individuos de Dendroica fusca y de Vireo olivaceus están incrementando en abundancia. Para Oreothlypis (Vermivora) peregrina, el 9 de abril fue un día notablemente bueno con la captura de 57 individuos en la nueva estación de anillamiento del bosque. Una increíble cantidad de 45 de ellos, fueron capturados al mismo tiempo en tan solo dos redes, ya que una enorme bandada pasaba por el área (ver foto abajo!).

Las observaciones también han registrado varias especies de interés, incluyendo un individuo de Dendroica castanea y tres Coccyzus americanus.

English summary: The last three days in the Victoria have been especially busy with an excellent variety of migrants present and many in good numbers. The captures demonstrate that Blackburnian Warblers are now arriving in force and Red-eyed Vireos are also increasingly abundant. For Tennessee Warblers, the 9th April was a remarkable day with the capture of 57 individuals in the new mist-netting station in the forest. A staggering 45 of these were caught at the same time in just two nets, as a huge flock came through the netting area.

Observations have also produced several species of interest, including a single Bay-breasted Warbler and three Yellow-billed Cuckoo.
